Festival bike Portugal

Hi all,
Its been a while not had very much on and started my winter job so been quite busy with that. But just got back from the last comp of the year in Portugal been going for the past 4 years.
Flew out last Thursday met up with Pedro Santo who organised the comp and who is also the DMR distributor in Portugal. We rode a freeride park on Thursday got a few sweet pics. Friday we rode the jumps at the show had to tweek them a bit but they were really good. rode till about 9 that night getting some practise for the comp. went out for a few drinks in the park by the hotel.
Saturday was the day of the comp rode all day again had qualifying at 3 in the afternoon qualified 3rd. the finals were delayed till around 8pm felt like death had my first run and slipped a pedal on a three whip and couldn't make the last jump. played it safe with the last 2 runs and got 7th was a bit bummed about that but had fun. Blake came second just behind Clinton Johns, thought Blake should have won but thats judging for you.
Had a good night out, went into town and outside the club they had a bullring where anyone could jump in and tease the bull till it chased you was amazing and I could have done that all night, there was a beer stand right next to it selling beers for 1 euro so that fuelled our bravery. eventually made it into the club was ok not that great Blake, Peran, Simon and I were Knackered so we headed home around 3am, the others got back at 6am.
Sunday was slow especially since everyone was still half asleep, we had best trick loads of crashing and big tricks went down but Blake won with a super clean flip whip, I got so close to landing a 360 flip got smashed into the ground and that was me done for the day i sat down and chilled in the sun for the rest of the day.
Monday we spent the day checking out Lisbon doing a bit of sight seeing and flew back that evening. was a sweet trip but not as relaxed as I thought it would be but got some cool photos thanks to Simon. check them out below.
Till next time Peace out!!

Corby and Dirt Wars at Chicksands
Hey all,
Had a sweet weekend, Met up with Chops on friday and drove up to Corby Skate park.
Had a sick sesh there with Sam Pilgrim and Oscar Golding. Learned a few new tricks double whips, flip x one foot and flairs was stoked on those but was super hot in there. and we only stayed for half the day. I stayed at Chops place that night and we then drove up to Chicksands for Dirt Wars. Got there around lunch time checked out the jumps and did a bit of spade work to fine tune them and had a few practise runs.
The open comp started and i was one of the judges, they had 45min jam sesh and the top five from there went through to the finals everyone rode well with some sick stunts getting thrown down on the last. After the 45 min jam we went on to the pro's and we had a 30 min jam sesh where the top five also went through to the finals. had a sweet time riding with everyone was like the old days when we used to ride chicksands loads. Phil Auckand was doing some sick twists on the second and the only one to twist it.
After the jam we went on to the open finals. three runs best two count. All the riders had good runs but there was a clear winner with huge flips on the second and sweet threes on the last Tom Ren took the win with ease. But all the riders were sick have to mention Sam Huniset who was getting really close to landing three double whips and double whips definitely have to watch this young gun.
The Pro finals were straight after and with a few practise runs we got started, I was third to drop in and did a clean run, one foot x on the first, whip on the second and flip one foot x on the last. the next two runs didn't go to plan but still managed to get third. Ryan Nangle was super consistent with sick barrel role's on the last he took the win and Phil Auckland came in second. apparently the top three were tied and they had to get other riders to confer with. Was a sweet day and wish i could have stayed longer but had to head back to Southampton because Chops and I had a Birthday to go to. Such a messy night but super fun.
Next weekend its 4A trails jam so looking forward to that.
Till next time stay Golden ;)

Euro Bike
Howzit,
Well last week Sam, Ollie and I had a little road trip, Well I say little we went down to Friedrichshafen in Germany for Euro Bike. Ollie and Sam picked me up from Portsmouth at about 10pm on Tuesday and after a little chat with a few girls that were passing we hit the road, next stop the channel tunnel. We caught the 1:30am boat had a little nap then drove for about an hour and decided to pull in for the night. sleeping arrangements were slim so Ollie got the front seat Sam had the back seats and had the coffin which was under the board across the wheel arches so I had about a foot and a half head room luckily I am not claustrophobic. Next morning we headed for Euro Bike had a few little detours but made it in the end.
Arrived at around 7pm and just in time for dinner with the Lezyne guys which turned out to be a fun night. That night we had nowhere to sleep so we decided to camp at the lake, which was sweet looking over the lake at the Alps on the other side. after having a cold wash in the lake we turned in for the night and back to my coffin.
Thursday and our first day at the show. Couldn't believe how big it was and so many brands that I have never heard of. Checked out the DMR stand and it looked sweet. clean and not to in your face. Went outside to check out the Dirt jump course and pump track it looked sick the landings were made with a base of big rocks with grass on the side and little trees, met up with Vanessa who I'd met at Big in Baveria a few weeks before. Had a walk round with Sam and Ollie playing the helmet game, basicly you walk around and find the wierdist looking full face helmets and without laughing which was not possible, take a photo of Ollie wearing it. We used Ollie because his head was perfect for it.
Only managed to see half the stands that day. Had a little practise ride on the jumps and the first straight was sick but after the berm it was hard to get speed for the last two. got used to them after a while though.
That night and another sweet dinner with Vanessa, all the DMR guys and the people from Taiwan who make everything DMR that's metal. That night we decided to back to the lake because it was sweet and also because we had not organised camping. We swapped vans and took the Upgrade van because it was bigger and had beds in it. again had a wash in the lake, chilled out for a bit then caught some ZZZZ's.
Friday and day of Qualifying never did much that day had a look at the rest of the show then went for a bit of practise before Quali's put a sweet run together. 12 out of 50 riders went through to the finals. It was one run and my turn came and did my run perfectly Flip table the first, three one foot X the second round the berm to tailwhip on the third and three table on the last was stoked with my run. Now just had to wait to see if it was enough but i felt confident. Blake had his run and was a good one with a superman one hander on the last but slipped a pedal. We left to go get cleaned up for the Euro Bike party that night. came back found the guys and found out that i had just missed out on Qualifying and was seriously bummed about it. Anyway that night they had a live band playing and they were not that great but we made the most of it by dancing around in the front like crazy people pretending to love them but in such a sarcastic way was super funny.
Saturday and day of the finals. Found out who made it into the finals and i was shocked the judging was crazy, the people that bet me i was a bit shocked. Anyway finals went well with some sick stunts getting shut down in the end Martin Sodestrom took the win with Amir Kabani in second and Sam Pilgrim in third.
We swapped vans again packed up said our goodbyes and started our drive back to the UK.
Drive back should have taken us 8 hours to Calais but we got a little lost ended up driving through these amazing mountains and sweet roads which made me wish I had my supermoto. It ended up taking us 11 hours we arrived in Calais at 3 in the morning slept in the van and caught the 10:30 train in the morning. Drove back to Ollie's dropped off Sam then Ollie gave me a lift back to Portsmouth.
Was an awesome trip and thanks Matt and Damian for everything.
Looking forward to next year.
Peace!

Animal bike shows and Wisley KOD
Sup Everyone,
Had an awesome weekend started off on Friday up early with James Big Hair headed down to Bournemouth for a day riding demo's on the Animal Relentless Bike Tour. the weather was a bit dodgy, crazy windy but the rain held off. was a super fun day riding with my bro and Martin Ashton.
Saturday James and were up early again and off to Wisley for the final round of the King of Dirt. It had been moved from Sunday to Saturday because the weather forecast was crappy. took us 4 hours because of hectic traffic but finally made it and the trails looked so sick , I had not been there in ages and there had been a few changes to the jam line with new hips and different lines looked amazing and i could not wait to shred. Riders started turning up and the session was going off and before we new it the Open comp started all the riders were killing it the standard has most definitely got higher with tail whips and flips becoming the norm. Tom Ren and Craig Potter were the ones that stood out with such a massive bag of tricks.
Pro comp started and it was 3 runs on the jam line and 3 on the pro line. i was a little nervous as always but soon chilled out once i got my first run out the way. good to see Rob Newman shredding its been a long time since i have seen crank flip to xup. got all the runs done on the jam line then moved onto the pro line and with only the last 2 jumps being scored you had a lot of time to think about you run while getting to the last ones had some good runs best was a flip table to downside whip. Highlight of the day was seeing Sam Ren pull a front flip over the small take off to flat.
Sam took the win with me in second and Adam Williams in 3rd.
Prize giving and in the Open Tom Ren took the overall KOD with Craig Potter in 2nd and in Pro it was Daryl Brown taking 3rd overall with Clinton Johns in 2nd and Me taking the overall win was a sweet moment for me so stoked.
Amazing weekend and thanks to DMR for the support you guys are awesome.

Dirt Wars, Southwest Extreme
Yo,
Just got back from an epic weekend. My mate Mervyn and i headed up to Southwest Extreme in Devon for Dirt Wars. arrived there on Saturday after being stuck in traffic most of the day. we were supposed to have the comp that day but the wind was blowing a gale and we called it off till Sunday morning. had a good night with a few incidents with fire works and deodorant cans in the fire pit.
Sunday morning we had the comp first thing because of the wind. Open comp went well everyone rode well and put on a good show.
Pro comp started at 11 and the wind had started to pick up but we managed to get it done. took a while to get used to the jumps and they were a lot better than last year.
It was 5 runs 3 count, all the riders were riding well even in the wind. Got my first run down. Daryl, Nangle and Ash all did sweet runs which put the pressure back on.
the rest of my runs came together and i managed to take the win with Ryan Nangle in second and Daryl Brown in third.
Spent the rest of the day in Newquay had an amazing night out partying, swam in the sea and then headed home monday morning.
Looking forward to Wisley this weekend should be sick.

Camp Bestival
Hi All,
Sorry its been so long, My bad.
This last weekend i had the opportunity to go ride a demo at Camp Bestival in Devon by EZO and King of Dirt who organised it. it was awesome free music festival and 1 demo a day so plenty of chill out time. got a lift with Chopper down there and met up with a few other riders to many to mention.
The Ramp set up looked sick was not just MTB there were mountain boarders and bladders some free running guys, Skaters and a climbing wall. did some of the activities and helped out with the have ago guys. Was super relaxed and the music was sweet it was a very family orientated festival which was cool.
Had a few crazy nights in the Bollywood tent with everyone and slept on the climbing mats every night which were amazingly comfortable. There are a few Pictures around. check out the news page on the DMR website there is some pics and a write up by Simon which is sweet.
Thanks to everyone who set up the ramps Andy, Badge, James Iaouuunnnoo, Alex and the rest of the crew.
Awesome weekend and can't wait for the next one.
Peace!

Road trip with the Polish and Bike Radar
What a hectic week Last week, Caught the train to DMR HQ on monday, had a chat with everyone packed up the DMR team van and headed off to the airport to pick new DMR team rider Kevin Katinas. Picked him up and headed to Milton Keynes to stay with Szymon and meet up with the other Polish boys.
Tuesday we left early morning for Swansea to ride Moo's and Clyne trails with Adam Williams. finally got there after 5 hour drive first stop was Moo's trails and they were stupidly steep landings but really fun to ride met up with Chris Smith, the polish Godziek bro's were killing it tricking everything. then went down the road to clyne trails which had much better landings and you could land on them but the wind was pretty gusty so went back up to Moo's to end the day.
Wednesday and Kevin and i drove to our step up Famous which luckily was in Wales near Scotland and not to far from London. The polish guys came aswell met Blake and Chops there and had a sick sesh and again the Polish Bro's were sending it and Blake was throwing down to.
Chilled thursday showed Kevin where i lived on the Isle Of Wight then met up with Sam (Manwell) Reynolds, Sam, Ollie, Seb and surprisingly Andreu Lacon at Gosport BMX track had a little ride. then headed back to Manwell's for a BBQ. Friday we went back to DMR fixed up Ollie's 4X bike then headed for Brands Hatch for Bike Radar Live.
Got there and tried to sort out the Hotel but there was more people than were booked so we had to wait till they cleaned another room.
Saturday and we woke up early to get some practise in. the jumps looked good a nice size. rode them for a bit and they felt good Andreau did 2 runs and was over it haha, rode the quali's in jam format and they had two jams, they went well had fun and there were a few big crashes by the other riders. had a little walk around the show checked out some stuff all pretty same same but met some cool people. that night Madison had a party with FREE drinks which was awesome had some good laughs but went to bed early because of Finals in the morning and KOD really early.
Sunday and i got down to the track really early and ready for KOD Pig which was fun, i got paired with Daryl Brown. we made it to the finals and we were up against Chris Smith and Ryan Nangle it started well a 360 tail wip was pulled out of the bag and Chris droped in but crashed, Daryl and i had a talk about who was better at that trick in the end i said ill try it, droped in got to the last jump and went for it landed it clean and rode away with a BIG smile. unfortunalty the other tricks pulled out the bag were a wild card and a Barspin so we got kicked out and came second but was not all bad.
FINALS and it was going so well dialled my runs but when it came to my run i cased a little because the wind had picked up so couldnt finish the run same with my second run and it was 2 runs count so i wasn't going to place anywhere so i chilled on my third run ended up crashing on the last jump anyway but it was a super fun comp and weekend. Sam Manwell rode really well but Sam Pilgrim did the usual thing and shut down. Daryl also rode well and took third with Mawell in second and Pilgs in first.
fun week and hope Kevin gets better with his shoulder.

26 TRIX
Wats up everyone,
Just got back from 26Trix was an awesome trip. Arrived there on Wednesday managed to get a room in the hotel which was amazing cause i hadn't organised anything (thanks Basti) Had a look at the course and the big line was massive and looked scary specially in the wind and its always windy there luckily there was no rain this year which is rare.
Watched Kelly Mcgarry hit the big set and he made it look easy. thursday and day of Prequailifying first run through the small line which is not that small and over jumped the one out of the berm to flat, it did not feel good at all. Decided i would do better riding just the big line and get more points. Got through ok but you have to pin it so hard. still an amazing feeling floating through the air for ages.
Qualifying started at 5pm and it was 2 runs best one counts, did the big line in both my runs did an ok first run which made me qualify 10th. practised for qualifying the rest of the evening.
Friday and day of Qualifying was a bit nervous especially since i had to go first, dropped in for my first run and messed up the first jump but carried on till the end. everyone stepped up there riding and it was a tough comp had to wait ages for my second run, finally it was time for my second run started well flipped the step up 1 foot x the next to downside wip on the hip and slipped a pedal which peed me off big time because i had been doing it fine all the time so never made it to the finals and was super bummed. Watched some good riding though especially the Canadians Brandom Seminuk and Graham Agazis as well as the Mcaull bros was super sick to see them ride.
Saturday was the finals and they were insane Andreau doing a massive flat spin on the big jump was a highlight for sure. My favourite trick was Niki Lietner doing a massive super seat on the big jump was so sweet, my favourite trick by far.
Cam Mcaull took the win with Brandon in Second, Martin Sodestrom in third and Sam Pilgrim in Fouth.
End of the weekend and time for the after party which as always got messy and for some reason every time at 26Trix after party shirts get ripped off was a good night anyway and with my ears ringing in the morning and still a little tipsy we caught the shuttle back to Munich airport.
Hung out at the airport for a while cause our flight was not till late. ended up watching England v Germany on the big screen with Sam P, Sam Ren, Linus and chopper where we got slaughtered but i dont care much for that sport bunch of pansy's falling over for no reason.
All in All an amazing weekend and can't wait for next year just need to get more consistent in my runs.
Peace out!!

Peace out!!

Balaton Bike fest and Budapest

WOW! This is going to be a long one,
Well flew to Budapest in Hungary last week Wednesday for Balaton Bike Fest, arrived at the Festival after bieng picked up by someone that no one knew which was random.
Anyway got there about 9 at night met up with Andras who invited me. then went to the house and met up with Kevin Katinas who decided it would be better to wake up at 4 in the morning to ride the jumps because it was so hot during the day.
We woke up at 4 went up to the jumps had a walk round the course and watched the sun come up had a pretty good sesh even though it was hot by 5:30. met up with Kelly Mcgarry, Shanine and Niki and chilled at the lake the rest of the day until it cooled down a bit rode a little more in the evening then partied and watched the sun come up did that for 4 days straight rode quali's on Friday and got 8th which was ok. went to a little party in the hills which Andras told us was 10min away turned out it was 1 hour ride. prob not worth it but the way home Kelly smashed the window of a car that pulled out when he was overtaking it they called the police we rode away pretty quick then the police happened to come up the rode we went down and so we flew off passed them Kelly disappeared down a bank, Kevin hid behind a car and we got caught nothing happened they took our details and wanted to arrest Niki for not having any ID then told us to walk which of course as soon as they were out of sight we jumped on the bikes and rode away fast. lost Kelly and Kevin, Kevin turned up with Andras after about 30min but no Kelly so Andras and Shanine went to look for him and found him in the back of the police car, he had been caught hiding in a tree in some ones garde. Fun Times haha. rode finals on Saturday and got 8th again so wasn't to bad. But Mr Katinas rode after a nasty smash trying to three the really small drop messed his shoulder pretty bad got it strapped up just in time for finals and killed it came away with first which was amazing. that night was quite a big party in the Monster tent with FREE drinks, AMAZING. and another night we stayed up all night and watched the sun rise.

Sunday we tried to sleep but it was so hot around 35c so we went for a walk in town and sampled Cocktails and went swimming. Drove back to Budapest with Andras in the Monster Chevy everyone knackered from a very Hectic weekend.
Budapest is a Beautiful city with all the old buildings and architecture. Did a day of sight seeing on Monday and chilling out. Then just happened to miss my flight oops but rebooked for friday.
Tuesday we went and rode Peters place, Patakhegy Trails which were cool had a wooden feature step up step down only good thing i did was wip up the step up and no foot can off. but got some sweet photos with Norbert Szász and did a little bike check for Stand Mag should be in the next issue check out www.standmag.hu
Went out to a club where its in a little park which was full of people chilling and dancing never watched the sun rise this time though.
Wednesday it rained all day which sucked so no riding and nothing really happened.
Thursday Keven had to fly back to Holland and almost missed his flight. I went with Peter and Andras to ride Golden Mountain Trails which we amazing the most fun i had riding the whole trip never wanted to leave but Andras had a Monster meeting anyway filmed a few runs but the camera died so had a photo shoot with Peter was sick got a few things dialled. That night we went out for the last time kinda partied all night, tried to sneak into a hotel pool but kept getting busted by security funny story. had about 30 min sleep and caught a taxi to the airport.
Hungary is amazing the people are amazing and I cant wait till next year. Thanks Andras for inviting us and crashing at your place. PEACE

Redhill KOD
Yo,
Been up at redhill this last weekend for the second round of the King of Dirt.
Drove up on Saturday with James Iouanou arrived at Redhill around 12 met up with all the boys had a look at the jumps which were sick, a good size for comps which was cool to see. Signed up to ride and got practising. The jumps took a little getting used to and just as i got tricking everyone stoped riding and got ready for the start of the open comp. I had been asked to judge and as i have never done it before was a bit wary.
In the open comp they had five runs three count, everyone was riding really well especially Tom Ren and Craig Potter. top Five made it to the finals with the riding stepping up even more. In the end Joash Clackson got third, Tom Ren got second and Craig Potter took the win.
In the pro comp they had two heats with top three in each going through to the finals i was in the second heat so got to watch the first but i had problems with my back tyre went through 2 tubes in 10 min and almost missed my heat. had to keep a pump handy and pump it up after every run. had some good runs and made it through to the finals.
In the finals i was really tired from the sun and riding hard all afternoon, after a quick redbull i had some energy back and rode well doing all the runs i wanted to do and only messed up once on my last run but had done enough to take the win. with only 1 point separating me and Clinton Johns in second. Daryl Brown took third with some very consistent runs and sweet dumped three's. James got best crash with his massive flat spin attempts and Ryan Nangle getting the progression award.
Had a bit of a celebration that night with the Welsh guys and Cliff B from Huckmonkey.
Sunday James and I headed down to Toby Ware's house near Winchester to ride his mulch jump in his back yard. had a really good day riding with Toby, Craig Potter and James.
Amazing weekend in the sun and defo looking forward to Balaton bike fest this weekend in Hungary.
Peace out!

Dirt Wars, Harthill, Cheshire
Yo,
This last weekend i was up near Liverpool in Harthill, for a round of Dirt Wars.
Drove up really early Saturday morning with my sister Amanda, Norman and Mervin. it Rained none stop all day. Arrived there around 12 set up the tent and then checked out the course and the 4x course looked sweet but muddy.
The dirt jumps were a surprise to say the least, they were quite small but turned out to be really fun.
The comp was ok but we had to wait for the 4x to finish and it only finished around 7pm so all the dirt jumpers were annoyed especially since it started to rain again.
The comp went ahead anyway had qualifying and top 5 went through i made it to the finals with Daryl Brown, Adam Williams, Ash and Ricky Crompton.
The Finals went ok apart from the rain and slimy jumps managed to get a good run but messed up the other 2, it was good enough for 3rd with Daryl in 1st and Ash in 2nd.
Sunday and we decided to leave early and head up to Hub Fest in Liverpool to see my Bro Blake ride in the Animal Relentless bike tour was a much better day the sun made an appearance but the wind was hectic. the show was good only saw one and then headed back home, with a 4 hour drive ahead of us.
Cheers for now

IXS Dirtmasters, Winterberg, Germany
YO,
Last week Thursday Team DMR drove to Winterberg in Germany for the IXS Dirtmasters.
Had a busy morning trying to get to DMR Headquarters with Ollie having a moment with THE MAN (Police) about his car insurance, got that sorted, packed up the van and headed for the channel tunnel.
The trip went smoothly and 9 hours later we arrived in the scenic town of Winterberg, met up with the guys from Cosmic for dinner and then turned in for the night.
Woke up early Friday morning went up the mountain to where the show was and set up the stand then had a walk around checked out the slopestyle course and the other tracks.had a play on the Continental track which had a small up lift and was super fun messing about on and testing the DMR fully or Squishy as we called it.
Had a chilled day signed in for the slopestyle and watched the Giro Bowl best trick. at the end of the day we headed back into town for dinner then into a wine festival which was random. Sam, Ollie and I then decided that we were going to find a club, 1 hour later and after finding 2 strip clubs that looked sketchy we finally stumbled into the club and well you know the rest.
Saturday morning and with a bit of a hangover headed back to the show. Went and walked the DH track and watched the practice then caught some sun. Pretty chilled day not allot of riding because it was super hot. Rode the slopestyle course in the evening, not the best course was small and mellow lips but loads of fun lines got a bit of practice in. the ground was like sand paper i fell off and my arm now looks like a big piece of bacon. The level of riding there with the locals was high, even in the open comp the tricks that were getting thrown down was impressive. End of the day and with everyone a bit sunburnt we watched Sam race 4x smashing everyone. He made it to the finals only to be taken out on the first straight but fought his way back taking out 3rd and 2nd then had a really close battle with 1st but was just beaten right at the finish. Sam was not best pleased losing to a Squidy as he called him. Stayed for a bit to watch the pro event, decided to go get some dinner and get back for the finals. did not make it back in time but we knew who had won. first place Jared Graves that man is ridiculously fast.
Sunday and day of the slopestyle comp with not allot of practice and only one qualifying run the comp got on the way. the riders were going all out in there first runs and myself with a sore shoulder could not get a solid run so never made qualifying. there was 50 riders and 16 qualified so was really hard to get in. Sam and Blake never made qualifying and we were shocked as Blake had done an awesome run. But not allot we could do so we sat down and watched the finals Sam Pilgrim and Martin Sodestrom were battling each other as always but it was Sam who took the win with Martin in Second. Congratulated them and said our goodbyes then headed back up the hill to pack up the stand and head for home.
Drove all through the night getting to the tunnel in Calais at 2am then had to wait till 4am for the next train. Got back to DMR HQ at 6:30am and unpacked and headed for Ollie's house half asleep.
Was an awesome weekend loads of laughs. Thanks Matt and Tom for looking after us and to the Cosmic guys for there hospitality. Look forward to next Year.

FISE
Wat Up all,
Just got back from FISE in Montpellier, France. Was a sweet Slopestyle comp part of a big extreme sports week with bmx, skateboard, wakeboard and more...
Went out there for a week left last Tuesday was a little sketchy with the planes and all this Volcano issues but all was good chilled on the first day had a look at the course looked RAD drop off the bridge to big old step up with a 4m kicker (insane) cool little pump track double to road gap knarly opposite wall ride to step up hip last double then quater to wall at the end.
Did not do much for the first few days as the course was still being built and the weather was a bit on and off with rain. Rode it for the first time Wednesday afternoon drop off the bridge was a bit daunting but really easy carrying loads of speed and still just managed the step up. wall ride was just about impossible to get to the down ramp so only rode the drop and step up.
Thursday everyone else turned up had one look at the wall ride and said no ways is it going to work. so Jamie Goldman, Mike Montgomery, Pierre edward ferry and I spent ages changing it to make it better.
Friday was the Experts comp on the course and we had just finished changing the run out of the wall ride and tested it
The French riders are insane just sending all sorts of tricks and smashing everywhere fun to watch though.
Partied every night at a club called Ayers Rock was an Ausy bar pretty cool had some crazy times in there, but never drank only Monster.
Saturday was supposed to be the day of qualifying but it was crazy windy and the riders called it off because it was to dangerous, So instead they had a best trick on the last to keep the crowds happy. Some good tricks went down Yannick Granery did flip wips and crazy dump 3's but in the end Mike Montgomery won with a flat spin 720.
Sunday and we had to wake up really early because qualifying was at 9am and practise started at 8 because there was less wind in the morning got my first qauly run out the way and the wind picked up so it was called off again. We then decided to change a few things on the course and start from the landing of the step up. Quite a few riders did not like the idea of riding in the wind and were trying to call it off but it went ahead so most of the guys did not ride, i was well up for riding just a bit bummed we couldn't do the whole course. managed to qualify in 5th then had the finals later in the evening.
Rode really well did not do anything crazy just kept consistant and battled through the wind. Other riders were strugling with the windy conditions but everyone got through ok. Thought i had done good enough for top 5 so was happy with that then missed the price giving because i went back to the hotel to drop off my stuff got back and was told that i had won which was amazing best fealing ever to win a big comp like that and so stoked so i came first with Yannick Grannery in second.
That night was a big party night for me, then flew back to the UK on Monday.
This year has started off better than i could of imagined now looking forward to IXS Dirt Masters in Winterberg, Germany this weekend going to be EPIC!!
PEACE!!

First round of the King of Dirt at The Track
Watup all,
Well this last weekend was the kick off of the UK King of Dirt which was held at The Track in Portreath, Cornwall.
Thursday night last week around 8pm i jumped on the ferry and sailed across to the mainland where i meet up with Ollie, Sam, Mike Smith and the rest of the dirt bags loaded up my bike and bags and made our way down to Cornwall.
Got down there around 2am to Ollie's Parents little beach house and all six of us cramed in and sleeped where could.
Friday morning woke up and headed to The Track, the weather was a little dodgy and wind was howling like always in Cornwall spent the day helping finish off the last jump on the pro line and the huge dirt quarter, as well as messing about on the pump track and bmx track.
Saturday was the day of the comp woke up early to get to the track by 11am because the sun was out and it was getting worse through the day. The wind was blowing across the jumps and everyone was really strugling to trick and make it through the set.
Watched the open class on the top set of jumps and they were strugling with the wind but were still pulling some sweet manouvers, one or two crashes but nothing a bad.
Pro comp started straight after the opens and we had 5 runs 2 count because of the wind. Even with the crazy cross wind everyone tried hard to get there runs done and put on a good show. i managed to get to good clean runs and then tried to better it on the other runs. the highlight for me was definetly Adam Williams 360 double tail wip which was insane. a few guys came off hard like Tim Peckham on a flipwip mashed his knee and had to be streched off. It was all over pretty quick and we then had to wait 3 hours till the results and prize giving so we headed back to the Beach house to freshen up and get ready for a loose night.
Got back to the track and waited for the results, in the open class Tom Ren, Sams bro took the win. and in the pros Clinton Johns got third, Adam Williams got second and I Managed to get first, I was super happy and my first win, So that was a good start to the year in the UK scene.
Celebrations started straight away poped in to Tesco bought some cheap alcohol and went back to The Track for the Undercover Party, everyone was getting loose and having a good time, Later on we headed to the local night club Twilight or Sweet Box as we call it and partyed till the early hours with lots of dancing and of course DISCO POGO!! haha!
Sunday morning i woke up with a sore neck from sleeping on the front seat of the van and everyone was fealing the affects of the night before still a little tipsy to say the least had a coffee and bacon roll from the track shop and went to the beach hut to chill out then down to the beach to lay in the sun. just after lunch we headed back to the track to find out if the other comp The Track Kona Invitational slopestyle was still on but it had been called off due to weather and alot of riders had left allready so Sam, Mike and i headed back up to Mike's house near Hinde Head.
Monday morning and Mike had asked Sam and I if we could ride in a demo for Cycleworks in Haslemere at a little festival in the town.
We did four shows during the afternoon and we had unfortunatly brought the wind from Cornwall with us so not alot of tricks but the crowd was still cheering and there were loads of people watching. was a fun day but i was happy to jump on the train and head home to the Island.
Thanks everyone for an epic weekend.

Switzerland, Rocket Air Slopestyle
Sup,
Well where to start, last weekend i jumped on a plane to Zurich with my bro Blake. Arived there on Thursday morning caught a train to Thun at the foot of the Alps. Trains are ridiculous money anyway arrived in Thun and ran into Phil Sundbaum waiting for a lift to the event.
The course was cool and in a snowdome, at first it looked a bit sketchy with wooden landings and other landings made from palets with a small layer of dirt. spoke to a few guys there who were doing the finishing touches and they assurred us it would be fine.
We chilled on the Thursday had a walk round the town which took 10 min as it was pretty small. Stayed at Hannes's house. he organised our accomodation and invitation to the event.
Friday came and we had our first ride on the course, made it through first time and everything seemed fine. got a few runs dialled then sat back and watched the prequalifing all the riders rode really well and the level of riding had definetly picked up. got a few more runs in after the prequaly. Blake, Sam and I messed about on the step till about 9pm trying ridiculous things, so funny.
Saturday was the big day with qualifying and finals on that day. Got a bit of practise in the morning then it kicked off about 2pm. Qualifying went well got through in 8th place so pretty stoked about that and i 360 my first drop, scariest thing i have done in a long time. Was really nervous about the finals, 2 runs best one counts which made it even more nerve racking. missed a trick on the step up which made the first run score not so well, second run and i knew i had to three the drop hands were sweeting rolled in got it perfect then sliped a pedal on a 3 xup one foot and could not make the step up so that was my comp over pretty bummed but still an awesome comp and course. Sat down and watched the rest of the riders and they were all feeling the presure both Sam and Martyn Sodestrom crashed in there first runs with Amir Kabbani, Mike Montgomery, Linus and the other riders getting good first runs. Second run everyone took it up a notch and for a small unknown comp the pressure and level of riding was throught the roof. they all got perfect runs and it was a tight call. Martyn got first with Amir second and Sam third, i am glad i wasn't judging.
That night we had the after party and everyone was loose and having fun.
Sunday morning and we checked our flights and they had all been cancelled because of this damb Volcano in Iceland. We rebooked our flights but the earliest was Thursday so with not alot of money it was going to be interesting. Thankfully we had a place to stay with Hannes and Martin the Aussy. Monday we had a chilled day rode around town went to Ace Factory the local bike shop for a coffee and to tinker on the bikes, then went and rode some cool trails had a little photo shoot and rode till the sun went down then a bbq and a few beers to end the day.
Tueaday was much the same chilled at the bike shop then got a call from the local paper, they wanted to do an interview on how we were stuck there because of the volcano was wierd but got our picture in the paper which was cool. that afternoon we went down to Interlaken to a laundrete and to have a walk round and do the tourist thing.
Wednesday we did another little shoot that involved a tree and a good view was fun and passed the time.
Thursday came and Blake and i left early for Zurich, i was sad to leave i had started to enjoy the lifestyle in Thun. Finally arrived back in the UK and felt good to be home.
Thanks to everyone who looked after us in Thun was an awesome little holiday and can't wait for next year.
Check ya Later.

Vienna Air King
Yo,
Had my first proper European comp this last weekend in Vienna Austria. Was amazing good to see friends since last year and get to ride some epic jumps.
I had to pre Qualify on Friday it was top 10 out of about 50 luckily i made it in 10th spot but was super tough dudes were throwing down double trucks and double wips left right and centre. I made it to the semi's which was on saturday and because the weather was dodgy they had the finals that day aswell, had a pretty good run but not the one i wanted but was happy unfortunatly missed out in qualifying for the finals top 15 went through and i came 23 so a bit bummed about that but still was awesome jumps and a crazy crowd cheering and shouting which pushed all the riders and got to see some amazing tricks go down.
Saturday night was the riders party and everyone got a little loose and we were all throwing some shapes on the dance floor and having a good time. had a close call with the Police on the way back to the hotel because we had 5 people in the taxi when theres only suposed to be 4, taxi driver went nuts and Blake, Daryl Brown and i jumped out quick leaving Grant Fielder and his girlfriend Rosie with the crazy taxi driver and police they sorted it all out in the end. took us an hour to find our way back but found the red light district which was funny and all the girls were ugly and desperite.
On the Sunday we had best trick which was live on the internet at watch26.tv everyone was alowed to ride so most people just put on a show, there were a few people who wanted to win Sam Pilgrem was doing 3 double wips, 3 super seats, front flip xup 1 foot and decades which is insane Martin Sodestrom double wiped the drop but in the end Andi Witteman won with a corked 720 super clean. the crowd loved it and everyone went nuts.
was an amazing weekend and looking forward to the next event in Thun, Switzerland this weekend.
Peace!

Holland roadtrip and Trash Jam
Hi, Arrived back from a super sick roadtrip to Dan Haag in Holland last night. Went with Ollie, Blake, Sam and Roo in the newly stickered up DMR Transit van which is RAD and you definitly won't loose it in a car park.
We left at the crazy hour of 4am on Friday morning and headed for the channel tunnel. arrived in Calais and made our way to Dan Haag which only took us 3 hours. checked into the hotel then meet up with Martin Knorr who had organised the Trash jam comp and some Austrian street riders who had come over to ride, First stop was some amazing trails in the middle of a park with the biggest Super booter i have ever seen and sick pump track. there we meet up with Kevin Katinas which was random because he live hours away from there and had an epic sesh with Blake doing flipwips and Sam throwing the biggest front flips i've seen him do, Ollie floating some awesome stylish 360's. before we new it it was dark and we headed back to the hotel everyone was tired from a long days driving and riding.
Saturday the weather was crappy so Martin took us to ride a few street spots in Rotterdam, then headed for Amsterdam to ride a skate park under a bridge surounded by motorway. We then headed into the city and took some sneaky photos riding down a street in one of the red light districts. Parked the van and went out to check out Amsterdam night life and of course the red light district was so funny teasing the girls in the window. Sam, Ollie and Roo got kicked out the peep show for not paying and i can't really remember the rest of the night except for the way back where we mistakingly put 2 stroke scooter fuel in the van and broke down and had to walk 2 hours back to the hotel. Worse part of the trip but was still funny and only got to sleep at 5am.
Sunday was the day of the jam loads of riders turned up and we rode some cool street places around Dan Haag then finished off a the Super booter trails where we had a best trick comp and prize giving. Sam Ren won with a front flip and double wip, Blake in second with a flipwip, 3 wip, flip tuck and superflip. was an awesome day but everyone was knackered from the night before so had an early night.
Monday we got a few more pics at the trails then headed back to the UK.
All in all Holland is amazing the people are friendly and i can't wait to head back there. big thanks to Martin Knorr for being our tour guide, and all the riders in Holland. Peace!
